Is CapCut Pro worth it? What you get over CapCut Free
Short answer
CapCut Pro is worth it if you edit video every week and keep reaching for premium templates, effects and AI tools such as auto captions and background removal, or if you need the large cloud storage to move projects between phone and computer. If you trim clips and add text a few times a month, the free editor already does that, and exports usually carry no watermark. CapCut itself says Pro prices vary by region, device and promotion.
What CapCut Pro adds
- Premium templates, effects, filters and transitions that are locked on the free plan.
- A monthly allowance of AI credits for features such as auto captions, background removal and AI editing tools.
- 1 TB of cloud storage, so a project started on your phone can be finished on your computer.
- One subscription across devices. CapCut says Pro works on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac and in the web editor.

The watermark myth
Many people buy Pro to remove a watermark. According to CapCut's help centre, exported videos usually have no watermark at all; the CapCut ending appears when a template adds its own closing clip, and you can delete that clip before exporting. So a watermark alone is not a reason to pay.
Why CapCut Pro costs different amounts
CapCut says Pro pricing depends on your region, your device and current promotions, and that prices on its pricing page are for reference. Buying inside the iPhone or Android app can cost a different amount from buying on the web. Compare the total for the period you need, not just the monthly figure.
Signs Pro will pay for itself
- You post short-form video for a business or a growing channel every week.
- You use auto captions on most videos and hit the free limits.
- You edit on more than one device and want the same projects everywhere.
